General

What types of businesses do you work with?

We work mainly with UK service-based businesses, including consultancies, technology companies, agencies, engineering firms and other professional services companies. Most of our clients are small and growing businesses that need reliable financial support but do not yet require a full in-house finance team.

What services do you provide?

We provide a complete outsourced finance function. This typically includes bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll, VAT returns, statutory accounts, corporation tax support, cashflow forecasting and wider finance oversight. Depending on the client, we also provide financial controller and fractional finance director support.

What do you mean by an outsourced finance function?

It means we provide the support a business would usually expect from an internal finance team, but on a flexible outsourced basis. That can include day-to-day bookkeeping, month-end reporting, financial controls, and higher-level financial input to support planning and decision-making.

Are you just accountants, or do you also help with the commercial side of the business?

We do both. Alongside compliance work, we help clients understand their numbers, improve reporting, manage cashflow and build better financial structure. The aim is not just to keep records up to date, but to provide information that is genuinely useful in running the business.

Can you help if we already have a bookkeeper or internal finance person?

Yes. Some clients ask us to work alongside an existing member of staff or external bookkeeper. In those cases, we can provide additional review, financial control and higher-level oversight where needed.

Do you work with startups and early-stage companies?

Yes, provided the business is looking for a more organised finance function and values regular financial support. We are often a good fit for founders who want stronger financial reporting and a clearer view of cashflow as the business grows.

How involved are you in the day-to-day running of the finance function?

That depends on what the client needs. For some businesses we handle most of the finance function directly. For others, we provide oversight and reporting while working alongside internal staff. We aim to be flexible and provide the level of support that is most useful.

How do you charge for your services?

This depends on the level of support required, the size of the business and the complexity of the work. We usually agree a clear monthly fee so clients know what to expect and can budget properly.

Will we have a regular point of contact?

Yes. We believe clients should know who they are dealing with and be able to speak to someone who understands their business. We aim to provide consistent support and build long-term working relationships.

How quickly can you take over from our current accountant or finance provider?

This depends on the quality of the existing records and how quickly information can be handed over, but we aim to make the transition as straightforward as possible. We can guide clients through the process and help make sure nothing important is missed.

What makes you different from a traditional accountant?

We combine compliance work with ongoing finance support. Rather than only stepping in at the year end, we work with clients throughout the year to help keep the finance function organised, reliable and useful to the business.

How do we get started?

Usually with an initial conversation about your business, your current finance setup and the support you need. From there, we can recommend a practical way forward and outline how we would work with you.

Accounting/Bookkeeping & Cloud

What accounting software do you work with?

We can work with most widely used cloud accounting systems. Where needed, we can also help improve the way systems are set up so that bookkeeping and reporting are more efficient and more useful to the business.

Can you help if our bookkeeping is behind?

Yes. Many businesses come to us because their records are not as up to date as they would like. We can help get things organised, bring the bookkeeping up to date and put better processes in place going forward.

Payroll & VAT

Can you help with payroll and VAT?

Yes. We support clients with payroll, VAT compliance and routine finance processes as part of a broader outsourced finance service. We aim to make these areas straightforward and well managed so there are no surprises.

Management Reporting

Do you prepare management accounts?

Yes. Regular management accounts are a key part of helping business owners understand performance. We aim to produce clear, practical reporting that helps clients monitor profitability, cash position and trends over time.

Business & Tax Advisory

Do you only help with compliance, or can you help prepare a business for growth?

We do both. Good compliance is important, but so is having accurate reporting, strong financial processes and a clear understanding of performance. Over time, this can help position a business for growth, investment or an eventual sale.

Can you help get our business ready for investment or exit?

Yes. A well-run finance function makes a real difference when a business is raising investment, bringing in new partners or preparing for a sale. Clear reporting, organised records and disciplined financial processes help create confidence and make due diligence much easier.

Do you offer finance director support?

Yes. For clients who need a more senior level of input, we provide fractional finance director support. This can include forecasting, financial planning, board-style reporting, support with growth decisions and wider strategic finance input.

Cashflow Management

Can you help us with budgeting and cashflow forecasting?

Yes. We regularly help clients build budgets, update forecasts and review cashflow. This is often one of the most valuable parts of our work, as it helps business owners plan ahead and make informed decisions.
